（培风讯）精英大学于1月19日及26日于培风中学举办独中英文教师培训工作坊，由该大学师资培训及教育发展总监许丽莲博士主讲，共有70名来自芙蓉中华中学、波德申中华中学、马六甲培风中学、利丰港培华中学、麻坡中化中学、峇株华仁中学及永平中学的英文教师参加。
精英大学配合独中统考英文的新教学及考试模式，训练教师如何教导批判阅读及写作。三个小时的课程让与会教师获益匪浅，许多教师表示这次课程让他们从另一个角度思考英文教学，领略了平常教学时不曾使用的方法，对他们今后的教学工作有很大的帮助。
Two regional workshops for teachers were planned by HELP University for schools in Northern Johor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan. The first workshop , ‘Teaching Critical Reading and Vocabulary’, was conducted by Dr. Khaw Li Lian, Project Director- Teacher Training and Education Development , at Pay Fong High School Melaka on 19th January. There were 70 teachers attending the workshops. They came from Pay Fong High School Melaka, Chung Hwa High School Muar, Pei Hwa High School Muar, Chinese High School Batu Pahat, Chung Hwa High School Port Dickson and Chung Hwa High School Seremban. The teachers gave feedback that the workshop was very helpful for them. Many indicated that the techniques they learned in the workshop would help them in their daily teaching. The second workshop on writing will be held on 26th January, 2013.
